Dear friends,
Today in place of an interview, Writers at the Well hosts a guest post in the form of a poem from poet, lyricist, and songwriter Caprice Garvin.
Caprice Garvin’s poetry has been published in Colorado Review, North American Review, Terrain.org, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, The Banyan Review, Lily Poetry Review, Poetry East, The New Verse News, Indolent Books, Apogee Magazine, The Belfast Review Magazine, and has been archived in the international academic database, Project Muse. She has recently co-written songs with producers Roberto Priori and Jody Gray and the band, which may be found on the newest Danger Zone album "Shut Up” (Pride and Joy). Caprice studied in the Writing Division at Columbia University, where she was awarded The Woolrich Award for Excellence in Writing, and in the Writing Division at Sarah Lawrence College where she earned an M.F.A. in fiction. Currently, she is studying music at The Juilliard School in NYC, and working on projects through her music publishing company, Caprice Music LLC. You can find out more about her work at: capricegarvin.com.
Thank you, Caprice, and all writers, musicians, and artists who chronicle, reflect, challenge, and reveal culture in the moment of its unfolding.
I’ll be back soon with a new interview.
Yours at the well,
Tess
Just when you think there is nothing more to read about the election, you -- I -- encountered this. Just like all of Caprice's writing, it opens me up, too. Thanks for posting Tess, and for your wonderful substack collection. I just subscribed to read more work like this. BRAVO, Caprice.
